Ryan Seacrest Foundation Music Studio at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children

The Seacrest Studio at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children allows children and teens to get behind the camera and mic to develop, star, and interact in original TV and radio programming during their hospital stays. Through this state-of-the-art multimedia studio, complete with sets, cameras, microphones, and a soundboard, children will share the spotlight with musical and celebrity guests, as well as other patients and studio interns. Programming will be limited only by the imaginations of our patients and will include music shows, game shows, karaoke, and more. Patients will also have the ability to call down to the studio via their hospital room phone to engage in events they are watching on their screen.

During demolition, existing feeder conduits were discovered coming out of the first-floor slab and penetrating the second floor. These fed panels on the floor above which served the facility’s pharmacy department. Shutdown coordination was developed between Enterprise and facility Engineering Department to briefly disconnect power and re-feed the panels via newly rerouted overhead conduits. Prior to the disconnection of power, measures were taken to provide temporary power to pharmacy equipment ensuring they remained operational during the shutdown. Once installation of permanent power had been reestablished, tested, and certified, pharmacy equipment was returned to its normal power sources. The combined outage time for both panels was 4hrs. without incident.

The cafeteria, patient public pharmacy, and training rooms are connected to the lobby area that was to be renovated. Over a scheduled weekend, a temporary “tunnel” corridor was constructed to allow for patient & staff pedestrian traffic to flow uninterrupted while overhead lobby ceiling renovation took place. The tunnel was furnished with lighting, Exit Signage as well as fire alarm detection and signal devices.
